Disciplinary Issues for Parents
Parents live apart but are rearing children together
Conflict between parents and teens is normal. Sometimes, however, family issues can become more troubling than the usual parent/teen angst. When communication and discussion reach an impasse, emotions can become dominated by resentment, rejection, and even rage that can lead to violence. Parent/Teen mediation is a good first step to getting families talking and working together.
Both parents and teens have the opportunity to hear and be heard. The mediator assists each of them with framing questions, seeking answers, and then arriving at reasonable and workable solutions.
